PREFACE

My mind wanders back to the summer of 2024. I decided to go on a bicycle tour across the United States on the Lewis and Clark Trail. I simply needed to go on a long journey, take a break from the daily grind, seek the Lord, and go on a bicycle adventure. I had just finished The Rising Son musical and book, and then I drove up to Washington D.C. to start the trail in Georgetown. I didn't know what the open road had in store for me, but I knew the adventure would make me stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually. I just felt like this type of epic adventure was what I needed to free and refresh my mind. Indeed, the journey led me back to a mountaintop of life. I grew closer to the Lord, and experienced the joy of independence like I have never experienced before. Most importantly, I exercised my faith and learned to wait on the Lord. God allowed me to mount up on wings like an eagle. I fell in love with the journey, the challenge, the joy, the adventure, the sights, the sounds, the smells of the open road, the people and places, and the welcome freedom.

While on the road, I had the opportunity to take breaks from pedaling in the various towns that I rode through. Every time I came into a town, I would stop at the local library if it was open. During my library visits, I would write. In particular, I was able to write two books of poetry. One of them being this book, and the other one being poetry of the parables of Jesus. This book is the sequel to The Rising Son, a Biblical musical about the story of Jesus of Nazareth, as told in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  The Book of Acts, obviously, is the story, told in the genre of folk music, of the book of Acts in the Bible. This book details, in folk song, Jesus's ascension to heaven, the disciples journeys, Paul's conversion and ministry, and the start of the Christian church. Being a traveling writer was most excellent. I was overjoyed to ride from Virginia all the way to the coast of Oregon, following the great rivers across the country. And to be writing all the while, made the journey that much more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Since returning from the Philippines in March of 2025, I have been working on creating the music to accompany the lyrics and narration of The Book of Acts folk musical. I finally finished in November 2025, and now, the musical can be viewed on blogger at the following web address:

I hope you enjoy this musical as much as I enjoyed creating it through inspiration from the Lord. God bless you guys, and let's keep on pedaling forward for the Lord!
