The Book of Acts - Act III: Ray of Light

The Sunrise Hope Presents The Book of Acts - Act 3: Ray of Light The Book of Acts is a folk musical telling the story of the New Testament book of Acts from the Bible. This is the third act. This is the story, told in the genre of folk music, of the start of the Christian church after the ascension of Jesus to heaven. In act three, Saul is blinded by the Lord on the road to Damascus. God instructs Saul to go into the city and find a Christian man by the name of Ananias. Ananias placed his hands on Saul, and Saul's vision was restored. Saul, then, was baptized and became part of the Christian fellowship that places their hope, faith, and trust in Jesus. Immediately, Saul starts spreading the Gospel in Damascus, and the people can't believe what they are hearing and seeing, as Saul used to persecute the Christians. Paul must escape Damascus because the Jews plot to kill him because of his faith in Jesus. Barnabas takes Paul to the other apostles, but they doubt that he is really a Christian. They eventually welcome him to the family of God after he shares his testimony. Paul and the disciples continued preaching the good news, there was a brief time of peace, and the church grew in numbers. Cornelius has a vision and sends for Peter. Peter also has a vision, and the Lord instructs Peter to take the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile. Cornelius, his family, and entourage are saved and baptized by Peter. Even unto the Gentiles, God grants repentance and salvation unto life. Peter then heals Aeneas in the name of Jesus Christ. Then, by the power of the Holy Spirit Peter brings Dorcas back to life. More and more people then believed in the power of the name of Jesus. During the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Peter is arrested by King Herod. An angel of the Lord frees Peter from Prison, and the disciples were astonished at his miraculous escape. The next morning, Herod executes the prison guards, and then, an angel of the Lord struck Herod down. He was eaten by worms and died. Paul and the apostles continue to preach the good news, Paul goes on two missionary journeys; the first Journey he goes with Barnabas; the second journey he goes with Timothy and Silas. During their missionary journey, Paul and Silas are beaten and thrown into prison. An earthquake sets them free, but they decide to stay put and not flee the prison. From their faith and testimony, a prison guard is brought to the Lord. Him and his whole family are saved and baptized. The magistrates and authorities then come and release Paul and Silas from Prison.
